Preview Week 2
Maine Red Claws/LA Defenders Early Game. Can the rapidly improving Marc Davenport handle David Duane? Who will win the 3 pt derby btw Jeffrey Smith and Josh Pepin? Which team plays well together – good mix of players on each but holes too or they’d be playing later.
Texas Legends/Bakersfield Jam Second Game. Both teams wanted/expected to win their first games, both capable of playing well but inconsistent. Who shows up? Can my Legends put it together and play well the last two weeks? Hoping so, a lot of good people working hard, maybe too hard, to work together. The word was supposed to be ‘play’.
Austin Toros/Idaho Stampede. Idaho Stampede have a tough combo of inside game with the Wright Bros and guard play with Lou and Brian. Can the speed of the Toros disrupt their flow, and will the under-rated and slick shooting Nick carry the Day?
Dakota Wizards/Fort Wayne Mad Ants. People assumed a Carruthers/Bavis team would be favorites, but it’s Fort Wayne that has played consistently well this year to separate themselves from the pack. You think Fort Wayne, you think laid back but talented Tim Knauer and Andrew Varley but was that 7 steals last week, Scott? Was that 1 assist and 4 turnovers last week, Bill? This one will be fun to watch and the Mad Ants D should bring the W.
